January 9 - Vaughn Rd

Jim went with us today.  It was nice having him a long.  We walked for a very long time.  I was very tired because my boots weren’t good for traction in the amount of snow we had at the time.  It was a chore just to take a step.   I think I saw a Pilliated Woodpecker fly by, and heard it – but then couldn’t find it.  Gigi and Jim went on ahead  - as I kept stopping to take pictures.  I got some Blue Bird pictures.  We saw several couples snow skiing (cross country skiing) today.  It was a beautiful day – sunny.  Left with some good pictures.

January 8 - Lake Street

Off of Erie down Towpath Street is this pretty area.  We traveled west more towards Rt. 21 where the path goes  under the bridge.  We both got some awesome pictures.

January 4 - Bridgeport Quarry

Today I went down here because it was snowing again, and Gigi was back to work.  I love the part of the towpath off of Erie.  I walked quite a  ways, which was tough in all the snow.  As I was coming back toward the car, I got eaten by a Coyote.  I saw something, but got scared, jumped down into the trees off the path, swore a couple of times and didn’t get to take a picture.   A lot of excitement for only 4 days into this project!!  Ended up going down to Towpath street to try to catch another glimpse of him.  Prior to leaving, I stood on the trail and Yipped like he was doing – in an attempt to draw him back, but didn’t work.  Also not able to find him again.

January 4 - Bridgeport Quarry

January 3 - Beaver Marsh

Today we went to the Beaver Marsh.  I didn't see as  many birds as I would have liked to but it was still very beautiful.  I think this is my favorite place of all the trail heads.  It reminds me of my father as it is the last place I was able to take him and my mother to hike.  It reminds me of him.
We then went to Botzum, which is a little south of the Beaver Marsh.  I hadn't even gotten out of the car yet .  when Gigi said she saw something flying in the sky. I did not get excited and was sure it would be a turkey vulture. But she thought it might be a bald eagle, and turns out that she was right. What a site to behold!
It flew above our heads and we both got some really nice shots.  I was very pleased with this day overall and ended up getting some other nice bird shots.

January 2 - Clinton

Today we went to Clinton. It was snowing very hard so we decided to stay closer to home for safety reasons. We walked North on the path. The sun was shining and the snow falling was absolutely stunning! It reminded me of my childhood, playing outside with the snow falling and the sun shining. Gave me a warm cozy feeling.
This is going to be a blast!

January 1 - Zoar

Kay Wuske
Today we went south towards Dover. We took Dover-Zoar road an stopped off in Zoar. We stopped on the side of the road and saw a beautiful bridge that crossed the towpath. We walked only about 1/4
